Monthly Planner - June-August


During the summer months you and your student should be finalizing a "short list" of schools for serious consideration in your area. Reputable publishers and national, regional and local educational associations have simplified this process by producing publications and websites that have cataloged an accumulative amount of information about independent schools in the nation. 

The four renowned independent school directories are listed on the School Directories page. These publications can be viewed at most libraries or ordered through their websites.

The most comprehensive website is sponsored by the National Association of Independent Schools. From this site you and your student are able to sort through a database of over 1200 independent schools in their association by state, school type - day and/or boarding, student body - girls, boys or co-educational, school name, and country. The added perk is that the site also lists the other local educational associations by state.

If you haven't done so already, now is a good time to determine how your student learns and processes information. There are several books on the subject of "Multiple Intelligence" that have been referenced in the Publications page.
